Overview:
We are seeking a sharp and dependable Underwriting Assistant to provide part-time support to our credit and risk team. You’ll play a key role in organizing and analyzing financial and property documents to support efficient and accurate loan underwriting. This is a great opportunity for someone with lending, finance, or real estate experience who enjoys working with numbers and wants flexible hours in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with compiling complete loan files for review, ensuring all required documentation is received

Review and summarize borrower financials including credit reports, bank statements, and tax documents

Help underwriters calculate and verify key deal metrics such as LTV, ARV, DSCR, and exit strategies

Pull and analyze real estate comps to support valuation assessments

Organize and label documents in digital file storage systems

Prepare draft credit memos and summary sheets for internal discussion
Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in mortgage lending, financial analysis, or real estate preferred

Solid understanding of basic underwriting and investment concepts (e.g., LTV, ARV, cash flow analysis)

Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with financial documents

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage several deals at different stages simultaneously

Strong written communication skills for documentation and internal reporting
